Website is helping social enterprise cut food waste

EFFORTS by a Saltaire-based social enterprise to reduce food waste are being boosted through a new ‘all singing, all dancing’ website developed by a local creative agency.

Saltaire Canteen, part of the national Real Junk Food Project, uses surplus food from local supermarkets and community donations to provide nutritious meals on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis for diners.

The Saltaire Festival is the owner of a new website thanks to a donation by marketing agency Xpand.The full-service agency based in Saltaire re-designed and built the site as part of its CSR efforts. The website will help the popular festival attract visitors and promote its numerous events around the World Heritage Site and surrounding areas.
