Website navigation is the collection of links that allows a user or search engine to move from page to page. There are multiple types of navigation:

• The main navigation usually appears at the top of the page and shows your main topic or category pages.
• The secondary navigation allows users to navigate sub section of a main topic, for example if the main topic were ‘footwear’, the secondary navigation would include formal shoes, trainers, and flip-flops as options.
• Footer Links typically include links to important information such as terms and conditions or policy documentation. You may also include the main topics of your main navigation in the footer to help users navigate the site from the bottom of the page.
• Related links display next to content and provide links to other content pieces that users might find useful, such as related case studies, products, services or blog posts.
• Internal links that appear within content that links to related services, products and blog content.
• Breadcrumb navigation quickly shows the user exactly where they are on a website. Essentially each page will show the user the trail, for example if they were on Xpand’s content marketing page, the trail would be Home > Services > Content Marketing.
