Marketing. It’s an interesting profession. It’s often seen as a playful and fun department in most businesses, but there’s nothing fun about not being taken seriously by other departments.

I used to be a marketing manager before setting up Xpand in 2007 and I clearly remember the pain points of the job. This lead me to set up a podcast with Gemma Edwards from content creation agency So Contented.

Here’s the format

  • Gemma and I invite a guest with expertise in the marketing field onto each episode.
  • Three real world scenarios provided by frustrated marketers are read out to the guest.
  • Gemma, myself and the guest talk through the scenarios, give some advice and have a bit of a laugh along the way.
  • At the end of each episode, the guest gets to decide which scenario from a frustrated marketer gets to go in the bin so it can never (hopefully) be experienced again.

This is a great podcast for frustrated marketing managers, marketing executives, marketing assistants and everyone in between.
