10 Xpand Achievements We Are Proud Of Image

If you’ve been following our weekly ’10 year anniversary’ blog posts, you’ll know that to celebrate our 10 years in business we are releasing themed weekly blogs on various topics.

As this is the final week, and our 10th post, we wanted to reflect back and outline 10 achievements over the 10 years that we are proud of.

1. Winning work with and gaining results for a prestigious Harley Street dental practice

35 Devonshire Place has a 200-year history of providing dental services in the world-renowned Harley Street area in London. We were recommended to them for our results-driven approach to marketing.

35 Devonshire Place was eager to work with us and went ahead with a complete marketing strategy to position the dental practice to a new target audience. An aging client base meant that the practice was looking to bring in a new life cycle of customer, so we worked with them to create targeted personas of their ideal, younger client base.

In the first month of working with us 35 Devonshire Place achieved more that £12,000 of sales with just a £2000 Adwords spend, a result they were very happy with.

They loved our creative approach and ideas, so not only did we get them a great ROI, they felt that we had also shown them a new level of thinking from a marketing perspective. We have helped them explore new avenues in their marketing, which they were not utilising with their older customer base.

2. Our community initiatives

At Xpand, we’re always proud to be involved in local community initiatives. Whether it’s taking part in an Easter egg appeal, or offering our services on a pro bono basis for local charitable organisations, we are always happy to get stuck in and do our best!

Over the years we have worked with many organisations including JCI Bradford, Saltaire Canteen, Saltaire Festival, YMCA and more. This year we are collaborating with our neighbours, RBS Architects to support our chosen charity of the year.

This year the charity we have chosen is Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, and together we will be taking part in a number of sponsored initiatives for their fantastic cause.

3. From apprentice to digital designer

Joe was our first employee back in May 2012; he came on board as an apprentice. Since then Joe has developed as a designer, after 2 years of working with us he completed his level 3 Apprenticeship in Creative & Digital Media, and now in his 5th year at Xpand, Joe uses his skills to influence many of our creative projects.

Joe has now also moved into business development for the company and is developing his skill set in this arena.

At Xpand we are always happy to see the team evolve and improve their skill set. We encourage improvement, learning and developing so that our team can provide the most innovative and creative marketing solutions to our clients.

4. Working with Lindt Chocolatiers

In April 2016, we won a ‘sweet’ contract with premium chocolate brand Lindt & Sprungli. They had found us through our social media presence, which was a testament to the effectiveness of our social media marketing.

The company required an internal careers pathway Intranet for their employees to plan their career path within Lindt. The process involved us creating wireframes, developing a beta version for user testing, custom development of the final version and then full training to the HR management team at their head office in London (which involved a goody bag of chocolate at the end. Yum!). A great outcome that all parties involved were pleased with.

5. Being able to offer all marketing services under one roof

We’re proud to offer our clients a full-service integrated approach so they don’t have to go from provider to provider for their marketing requirements.

Our services range from marketing strategy to identify your requirements to creating branded visuals for your business, to getting more exposure for your brand through effective PR.

Whatever it is that our clients need for their business we can use our creative and integrated approach to get maximum results for their money.

6. Creating a fun, creative and collaborative workspace

We have collectibles and souvenirs in the office from around the globe that date back almost 30 years.

From an ‘AT-AT’ Walker (from the movie The Empire Strikes Back) given to Jag on his 5th Birthday, an orange Hawaiian Tiki from Maui to an orange sugar skull from Mexico that fits perfectly with the office branding, we surround ourselves with things that inspire us to be as creative as we can be.

As well as a fun and creative workspace, we also have a collaborative approach to projects, where each member of the team can contribute with input, advice, and expertise to ultimately get the best results for our clients.

7. Our best result to date: XTool- £48,000 in 48 hours with a £400 campaign spend

XTool already had a strong presence in the USA and China but wanted to crack the European market. We were happy that we were the agency they decided to work with.

Our first task was to create a refreshed new look for the branding as well as a mobile responsive e-commerce website, stationery, advert design, brochures, online shops, and exhibition stands.

We then assisted with an effective PR strategy upon launch, to allow the company to stand out from the rest.

With our help, XTool achieved £40,000 sales through a £400 Advertising Campaign within 48 hours – a 100:1 ROI on their email marketing!

8. 1/3 of our business came from outside Yorkshire in 2016

We have worked with a variety of clients from a variety of sectors within Yorkshire. However, in 2016 we are proud to say that 1/3 of our business came from outside of Yorkshire with a majority of this coming from London.

This demonstrates how Xpand is growing and winning more business through our reputation for results-driven marketing strategies, which is what attracted these clients to work with us.

9. Going from 1 to 4 staff within 6 months in 2012

Taking on employees in a business is a huge commitment and requires a solid business infrastructure in place. In 2012 Xpand saw rapid growth, which resulted in the addition of 3 team members within 6 months!

In May 2012 Joe joined the team as our first employee, then a huge demand for graphic design work lead to our second recruit. As we got busier with increased demand for website development work we recruited a web developer 5 months later.

2012 was a time of rapid growth for Xpand and we are proud to have maintained the growth year on year since then.

10. 10 years in business

Xpand has come a long way since humble beginnings in a small office in Jag’s house. As per popular statistics, most businesses don’t last more than 3 years so we are very proud to have achieved the 10-year mark.

Along the way there have been a number of interesting experiences and many learning curves, but our focus has always remained the same – to provide a professional service to our clients and get them results!

Our portfolio of clients has included multinational firms through to small local businesses that we’ve secured some fantastic results for.

Reaching the 10-year mark is a huge achievement, but we couldn’t have never done this without our brilliant clients and suppliers so we thank you all for your continued support.
